Description: Short description: Andreev Leonid Nikolaevich (1871-1919) is a Silver Age Russian writer. Between 1906 and 1909, Andreev wrote four symbolic plays, including the tragedy of Anatam. The first separate edition of the play was produced by the publishing house Shipovnik in 1909. Anatema had great success in staging the Moscow Art Theatre, where V.I. Kachalov played the main role.
